Gnash 0.8.8 GNU Flash player released

Six months after the 0.8.7 update arrived, the Gnash development team have released version 0.8.8 of their open source Flash Player. According to the developers, the latest version of the SWF player should work with “100% of all YouTube videos” – users that encounter problems with videos are advised to delete all of their YouTube cookies and refresh.

Version 0.8.8 of Gnash features improved input device handling and can now switch between the Cairo, OpenGL and AGG renderers and between media handlers (FFmpeg and GStreamer) at runtime. Gnash also has the ability to decode video faster on compatible hardware via the Video Acceleration API (VAAPI) library.
