Today we are announcing the immediate availability of Oracle Solaris 11 Express 2010.11, providing administrators with access to the latest technology innovation with a fully production ready release.

Oracle Solaris continues to be the industry leading, mission critical operating system for the enterprise. Oracle Solaris 11 Express raises that bar, delivering immediate access to the latest technology innovation to increase application throughput, improve platform performance, and maximize overall platform reliability and security. Oracle Solaris 11 Express is a fully production ready release, with an optional Oracle support agreement, that helps greatly simplify the most common software maintenance tasks, scale to next generation hardware platforms, and provide the most efficient built-in virtualized operating system with comprehensive network, storage and server virtualization.

Oracle Solaris 11 Express is fully tested and supported on a variety of SPARC and x86-based systems from Oracle, including the Exadata Database machine and Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and other hardware platforms from 3rd party vendors.
