GCC 4.6.1 RC Arrives; Official Release Not Far Off

Version 4.6.1 of the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) is imminent. A 4.6.1 status report issued this morning signals there are no outstanding P1 regressions and that this point release branch is now frozen. The GCC 4.6.1 release candidate was subsequently issued.

From this morning’s report, there are no P1 regressions known for 4.6.1, which are regressions of the highest priority, but there are 98 regressions of P2 status and a total of 10 bugs of P3 status, which is the lowest priority tracked.
