Torvalds and Shuttleworth to Speak at LinuxCon Europe in NovemberIf you’re a Linux user, developer and/or fan and you have any chance at all of being in Barcelona, Spain in early November, a good open source conference is taking shape there. The Linux Foundation has just announced keynote confirmations and co-located events for LinuxCon Europe and the Embedded Linux Conference Europe (ELCE) taking place in Barcelona at Hotel Fira Palace, Nov. 5-7. Linux creator Linus Torvalds and Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth are just a couple of the slated speakers. Here are more details. Evernote’s CTO Dave Engberg will share the cost metrics involved in the company’s decision to run its own Linux servers versus deploying Amazon Web Services to support cloud computing requirements. Engberg is a senior technologist and entrepreneur with a background in building secure systems that scale to support tens of millions of people. He founded CoreStreet, Ltd., and was CTO at Driveway, Inc.
